12 Days Of Thanksgiving Devotional. Day 7:

Today we give thanks to God for our children! Psalm 127:3 shares “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him”. Our children, whether developing in a womb, toying with the idea of walking, toddling around our feet, keeping us busy with school and sports, preparing to launch into God’s plan and purpose for their life, or well established in their own independence, are a GIFT from God to be thankful for.

As we ponder our children, regardless where we as parents may find ourselves on the continuum of parenthood, be encouraged to reflect on ways your child or children have not only blessed your life, but how God has blessed you simply by allowing you to be the Shepherd He entrusted to tend to His precious little ones. Give thanks to the Lord for all that has come from being a parent, both the good and bad.

Consider creating something for your children to express all the reasons you have just given thanks. Pray and allow the Holy Spirit to share with you a method of delivery that would speak volumes to your child, or each of your children, uniquely. As we may know and understand, our Father does not love us equally, but uniquely. Today may be a wonderful opportunity to express your thanks as a representative of the Lord to your child, in unmatchable ways.

Today’s Devotional Verse

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Ephesians 5:25‭-‬28 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/eph.5.25-28.KJV

12 Days Of Thanksgiving Devotional. Day 6:

For the past five days we have been reminded of God’s goodness and all we can be thankful for as believers in the Body of Christ. We cannot help but grow tremendously thankful for all the blessings He has gifted to us. Today we offer up thanks to the Lord for our Spouse. The Lord saw that man was lonely and established a partnership by providing a partner, a woman, a wife. The two would leave father and mother to join as one. What a gift from God, marriage!

What a challenge and heart break some may also feel. For a little while, look for the blessing through the happy and heart break, and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate all the ways your spouse has blessed your life, is blessing your life, or you believe will bless your life. Better yet, allow God to reveal to you how HE was blessing your life through that of your spouse.

Likely, many a memory comes to mind. A memento to commit to memory and offer up thanks to the Lord for His goodness. If a marriage was absolved or lost due to passing, be encouraged to seek the silver lining. Was there at least one thing (there must be several if we allow the heart to be softened and the mind to be opened) the Lord was able to bless you by, as a result of your unity? Give thanks to the Lord for your spouse, present or lost, and pray for them, ask God to help them. Ask God to help you be a spouse that draws them closer to, and in a deeper relationship with, Jesus. Today, be encouraged to share with your spouse why you are thankful to God for them.
