7 Day Thanksgiving Day Devotional Day 4:

But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

(Matthew 6:6)

Prayer is often taken for granted. It can become vague or “other worldly.” Yet of all the things the disciples observed Jesus doing, one thing impacted their lives like nothing else. They saw Him praying. As they witnessed the results of His prayers to His Father, they craved that same spiritual strength and heavenly intimacy. “Teach us to pray,” they requested… and He did. Prayer is the believer’s lifeline to God, and it’s a powerful connection! So find your “inner room”, “shut your door,” and pray to your Heavenly Father. He’s waiting there just for you.

Worried about the future?

Worried about the election or the future here is a passage to read and help you. Going through a difficult time financially or loved one in hospital or hospice or needing surgery this is for you. 2020 has been a very interesting year to say the least and still surprise came with it and still to come. No matter the turn of events God is on the throne never to leave you nor forsake you. You may wonder why or think you are alone but you are not alone. As to why only God can answer that question when you see him but He can give you peace about whatever you are going through and what is to come.

7 Day Thanksgiving Devotional Day 3:

For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

(Philippians 2:13)

If you and I were jerked out of the world, would we leave a noticeable hole? Would anything be missing from the world that would stand for God in Christ or His righteousness? God did not create us to merely exist. He wants to make a difference in this world through your life and mine.

You see, God made us to stand out and to stand up for Him, and He equips us with everything we need to do just that. So take time to thank God for the work He is doing in you and look for ways you can work for His good pleasure by being a blessing to others.
