It is only through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that we can be forgiven of our sins and united with the Father. This is a free gift of God—something we do not deserve and cannot earn. Such a gift should inspire us to serve the Lord always. But what happens when a person receives salvation and then lives pretty much like everyone else? Our works can’t save us, but what do they say about us? Today’s email addresses this question:
How can a person receive salvation, backslide into a life of sin, and still be saved for all eternity?
Here’s the promise of Jesus: Once you trust Him as your personal Savior, He says, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish” (John 10:28). Not if, not but, not when. Never.
If a person has received salvation in Christ, the Bible says he or she becomes “a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). In His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus described it this way: “Unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3, emphasis added). Why did He use that term? Because once born, you’re born. You can’t be unborn, and you can’t be unsaved.
The reason we can’t lose our salvation is because we didn’t earn it in the first place. We’re not saved because we deserve it, and we don’t stay saved because we deserve it. Scripture says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you have received salvation in the Lord but return to a life of sin, your new nature hasn’t changed. Salvation is both a present experience and an eternal one.
The reason we can’t lose our salvation is because we didn’t earn it in the first place.
So, what’s happening when Christians return to a life of sin? Their awareness of God’s presence seems to disappear. They feel unworthy and separated from Him. There is a heightened sense of guilt, shame, fear, and emptiness. Believers who embrace sin will waste rich opportunities. They’ll miss not only God’s plan and blessings in this life but also rewards in heaven. (See 1 Corinthians 3:1-23.) Notice there’s a difference between losing your salvation and losing all the things I just mentioned. Jesus never promised that believers wouldn’t suffer.
So, can a person be saved by the grace of God, slip back into sin, and still go to heaven? Yes. But it is a very expensive trip. You lose and lose and lose; there is no “getting away with” sin. Because of the eternal loss—not of your salvation but of your heavenly reward—it is a costly experience to walk away from God.
Trust me, anything other than a life submitted to God is a waste of time—something you’ll see eventually, if not right away. Whatever’s holding you back, ask Him to help you lay it down. When you walk with Him, the life you always wanted is much closer than you think.
I hope this article was helpful to anyone seeking answers to questions they may have.
So, many have struggled with wanting to know what happens to someone who was following Jesus Christ and then starts to backslide. I found the answers and I believe Dr. Charles Stanley helps explain it best.
There are different ways to draw closer to God and below I will be listing a few tips on just How to do that very thing.
Studying His Word Daily is essential part of our lives. How can we make it through without Him? We are so desperate for Him, needing guidance, reassurance, strength, and love and so much more.
I recommend journaling when studying God’s Word. Journaling helps us reflect on what we’re reading – not simply to understand what we’ve read but to engage with the text. Biblical journaling is basically an open, honest conversation with God. We can wrestle with our doubts and fears, seek God’s counsel, and uncover attitudes and action that need to change. There’s no right or wrong way to journal as it’s personal to you.
There are different ways of journaling that people love to use for exaple: The Bible Study Methods.
Bible Study Methods:
Pray before every Bible Study
The Word Method:
● W…Write Write your daily verse in your journal

● R…Relevant How is this verse relevant and how does it apply to your life today?
● D…Declare Pray and Declare the Scripture passage over your life, your family, your home, and your relationships.
Waiting on God doesn’t mean we are doing nothing. It’s about trusting God to do His thing.
The Wait Method:

● A…Application How does this verse apply to my life today? How can you live differently in light of the truth?
● P…Prayer Turn these thoughts into prayer. Ask the Lord to show you how to meditate and apply this scripture to your life.
As you can see from the above there are different methods out there. Hopefully some or one of those will be helpful to anyone just starting out with journaling and wanting to draw closer to God.
Having a quite place to study so you can be alone with the Father is important. Maybe you wake up an hour early each day or stay up an extra hour each day if your days are busy. It is very important to make time to spend each day with God. Have a Bible caddy that holds your Bible, your journal, books and pins, highlighters, sticky pads etc. Keep index cards and post-it notes handy. I have index card on a key ring and write scripture on them and carry with me to work each day. As much as I love technology, there is simply nothing that can replace paper and pen. I have to have paper and pens handy at all times. So that way when you get ready to have your quite time with the Lord you have everything already gathered together and you can sit down and begin your day with the Lord.
I have shared in the past that I love waking an extra hour and enjoying my quite time with the Lord. I love to start my day on the right note and there is no better way then starting it with God. It sets the day in motion on a positive note and my day is better because of it.
Another way is through music I love listening to the old time hymns that I grew up listening to that my parents and grandparents listened to. I am not against today’s music but there is just something about those old time convection songs.
You have for example: Amazing Grace, Blessed Assurance, Count Your Blessing, Have Thine Own Way, Just As I am, Standing On the Promises, Victory In Jesus etc. I enjoy putting gospel music on softly in the background as I study sometimes with vocals and sometimes I just want instrumental background especially if deep concentration or deep study that requires digging deeper to get a better understanding.
I understand that studying God’s word can be confusing and hold to understand what is written. A great study Bible can help with that. I use the King James Cross Reference Study Bible.
You can find on Amazon and they have different font sizes too, small medium or large.
For the art lovers out there, there is Jouranling Bibles for you. For you to express your creativeness and have room to do so in your Bible.
If you need more help there are Bible commentaries, the Bible Hub and Bible Study tools on the web are great resources of information when diving deeper into scripture.
I wrote lie and say I never got a headache from diving deeply into scripture. It’s because I wanted to get a deep understanding of His Word and the only way to do so it to go deeper. I also, spent hours studying and maybe should have broken it down to one part but I got swept away that I just kept going.
Some parts of scripture are easier to read and understand then others. Which is okay, don’t worry about trying to understand every single word or passages you read. Don’t get discouraged. Take a break if you need to, pray and come back and reread the scripture again. Asking God for understanding, finding different tools to help you, having friends, church family, and Pastor to help you when wanting a better understanding.
I have been blest with my Sunday School teachers that I had for the past 5 years. They helped me to grow in ways I never knew I could before. I am a grown adult and even I needed help and when I came to the church I currently attend and found them they were just what the Lord wanted for me and had waiting for me. I wouldn’t have this blog without the help of my Sunday School teacher who suggested it and came up with the name for my blog. Hopefully you have someone who can encourage you and lead and guide you as you draw closer to the Lord.
I love YouVersion Bible app. There is not only daily scripture but so many devotionals out there to use daily. You can Highlight verses or passages and if you can’t read the Bible then you can listen as someone reads it to you. Which is great for driving to and from work and you want to read your Bible or devotional and didn’t have the time you can use the app and someone can read it to you; as well as videos to follow too.
Bible study isn’t a race from Genesis to Revelation. It is about learning God’s Word, being a student of God’s Word, and getting to know God through His Word.
For those that enjoy Podcasts there are Christian artists using them so maybe finding one you like and can listen to each day while driving, at work, or during lunch break.
I will leave you with this last method a Heart’s Prayer Guide. I came across this from Pinterest ages ago.
Hearts Prayer Guide
● H…Heart ~ Pray that Hearts will be soften to receive a word from God. (Ezekiel 36:26; Luke 8:5-15)
● E…Eyes and Ears ~ Pray that our spiritual Eyes and Ears will be open to receive and apply the truth that God speaks. (Acts 26:18; Matthew 13:15
● A…Attitude ~ Pray that our Attitudes will be adjusted to see sin as God sees sin. ( Luke 15:7; James 2:10)
● R…Released ~ Pray for lives to be Released from strongholds, footholds, and snares from the enemy. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4; 2 Timothy 2:25-26)
● T…Transformed ~ Pray for lives to be Transformed to live as true disciples of Christ. (John 8:31-32; John 2:3-6)
● S…Stand ~ Pray that we will Stand united; as one body as the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:10; Colossians 3:13-14; John 17:23)
May this post be a blessing and help for to those in need.
In this new era of conflict, seeing war of wars not just whispers of wars, disease, from politics to government to the work force and our homes. There is one question: what is truly scaring you?
How to ascertain what is a conflict within yourself, what is of devil, and what is of God?
Do you recall the saying you reap what you so? If so then it holds merit and true. If you continue down the same course over and over again knowing without a doubt it is a path you are not meant to be on. Then, what occurs is from within and the choices you make that create what is going on now.
Galatians 6:7-8 King James Version
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
This is not to say you are not battling Satan who reigns on earth.
2 Corinthians 4:4 King James Version
4 In whom the god (Satan) of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
At the same time you are freely given the free will to choose and the choices you make do place a empact on your life and relationships with others and your job, work, and school.
Or that you are in conflict with God as you are going against His will for you and the plans He has for you. Sometimes you may think God is doing to you when in fact God is bringing you through it.
Having a free will does not mean that we can do whatever we want without suffering the consequences, because even though we have a free will, we are still responsible for the choices that we make. We can choose to sow whatever we want, but we cannot choose what we will reap.
We can realign ourselves back into the Will of God by simply getting on our knees and praying for forgiveness and help with whatever is preventing you from being in alignment with God.
Below I am sharing Priscilla Shirer’s YouTube video God Is Aligning Your Footsteps.
Perhaps you have fallen away from church or simply found church is no longer meeting your needs. Maybe you need to find a church that will help you to grow and surround you with those that can pray for you and help guide you. While on your knees ask God to show you a church to go to so you have fellowship with others. Fellowship not only with a God but with like minded people is so important.

It’s on the songs we sing about in church. Oh, I need thee every hour I need thee. Have thine own way Lord. Amazing grace how sweet the sound. Oh victory in Jesus. Be still my soul. Standing on the promises of God. These songs and so many more speak our praise and worship to God. Our hearts sing with rejoice and Thanksgiving. There are times our hearts are crying and breaking because we know it is our sin that put Him on the cross. It is in the air we breathe that we are to worship, sing praises, give thanks for all He has done for us. We are not worth nor could we ever be worthy of such Amazing Love and He offers it freely to us.
Below I want to share this song with you called Isn’t It Amazing by Mark Lowry
I simply love that song and it’s truth embedded into every lyric.
Be aware of what is happening around you and around the world and God’s Word telling of the times and what is to come. How to deal with situations in your life and how to overcome them.
Don’t forget the author of confusion, chaos and causing that fear and being scared is of Satan. He loves to see suffering in any form. Loves to see you doubt God and His Word. Take your fear and what scares you and bring them to the Father for He alone can help you overcome them. The voice that says your worthless, or you don’t matter and so forth is Satan’s using those words against you causing that doubt and fear. Satan uses your weakness against you to cloud your judgment to think rationally. Remember you are God’s child and to turn to Him. He can use that weakness and make it become your biggest strength. What once made you weak can now make you strong with God’s help.
Don’t let being scared or afraid become a road block and paralyze you in life and moving forward. Don’t let it shelter and lock you within the confines of your home and within yourself.
Remember the Bible verse about the mustard seed. Take that which is holding you back and move it and take control using your Faith in God to remove it from becoming a strong hold in your life.
Matthew 17:20 King James Version
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Ask and ye shall receive without asking you won’t receive. So, come kneel before God ask Him for what you need and it shall be done. Now don’t think it will be removed as I said before God may take it and use it to give you strength so it may not be removed but become that which makes you stronger. You may be telling your story to someone else and because of what you have been through they learn to do as you have done to overcome for themselves as well.
We live in a world that is in a state of confusion and chaos. The author of confusion and chaos is Satan. It certainly is not God. He has been removed Him from our schools, work, places of business, home, anywhere and everywhere you can think of.
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33 King James Version
How many of you have been feeling, hurt, pain, experienced death be a loved one or friend, depression, anxiety, angry, frustration, loneliness, and isolation over the last couple of years dealing with all the crazy that surrounds us?
How about dealing with work and struggles there, money getting tighter from everything going up like groceries and gas, let’s not even mention paying bills and those prices going up because the rest of the cost of everything else is on a rise?
You miss seeing family, friends, the church family, school, work, and gatherings do to a virus preventing all that from happenig.
Eventually fear for the unknown steps in; first with uncertainty and then, like a death grip around your neck. It is splashed on the news outlets be tv, radio stations or social media. There is no escape from what you are always constantly hearing about it each and every day.
Now begs the real question where do you turn to for help and dealing with it all? When family and friends can only do so much and the news is clearly not a source of comfort nor joy.
Where do you look and turn to for help? What will help in these times of trials and tribulations?
Fear not my friends for all is not lost and there is hope. The Greatest Gift of all has been given to us. There is peace like no other, abundant joy and eternal life. Yes, my friends I am speaking of Jesus our Heavenly Father.
We were told in the there would trials and tribulations. Be vigilant, be prepared, and aware of the times we are in and the signs to keep watch for and take notice of the things that have already come to pass. Keep your focus on The Father. Don’t look for temporary relief but a permanent relief. Only God can provide peace about all that is happening and what is to come.
It is written 365 times to “Fear Not”. Fear is what today’s world is all about. Be it the Fear with covid or inflation that is hitting us. God is so much greater then our fears. Sure there is uncertainty but with God with us everything else fails in comparison. Those that are a child of God knows that The Father will never leave us nor forsake us. We know God will walk through the fire with us. He will carry us and see us through. He sustain us, comfort us, give us strength to make it each and every day.
What needs to stop is listening to the news and their false messages; they thrive on putting fear in people. I am not saying to abandon 100% but don’t take what is being said as word or truth. Seek the information out for yourself. Listening too much to the news can stress you out when life, work, family, and friends already add to that no need to let news be apart of it. Instead of listening to it in the car on your way to work and home save it for when home or viscera listen to it going to work and coming home but not at home. You need to relax and stress will simply add to it and anger over what is going on will take it’s toll on you and you need to detox from the toxins in the news. Don’t be so consume by it that you take their word as truth over that of The Father.
The Bible and scriptures are such great words of encouragement and inspiration and hope that it is the source to look to for help in every aspect of your life. There is nothing that God can not help you through and He will give you the words you need. Let His words be what you need. Let God be the one you cry out to, pray to and meditate with daily. Let Him encompass you with His Vocie, His Arms, and His Love. Let Him be all that you need.
Remember God wins the final battle. These things will pass away. Either it will pass or you and either way is a victory for those that are a child of God.
For those not sure they are a child of God or want to become a child of God it is very simple. There are three simple steps to take and I will list them below:
The ABC of salvation
• A – Admit
Admit that you are a sinner. To “sin” means to do something wrong. Here we bring to mind things that we have knowingly done wrong in our lives, as well as the times when we should have done good but failed to do so.
• B – Believe
Believe in Jesus and put your trust in Him. Christ’s death on a cross two thousand years ago was an act of selfless love. He took on himself the whole sins of humanity, making it possible for all people to encounter God. Believe that Christ has died for you, for all your sins.
• C – Confess
Confess Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. This means acknowledging that he is your boss, your master. A kind, generous and loving master. What he says goes.
A Simple Salvation Prayer:
Lord, I admit that I have done things that are wrong. Thank you that you have died to take away all my sins. Please forgive me. I receive your forgiveness now and declare that I want to live for you for the rest of my life. Come and fill my life with your Holy Spirit. I now depend completely on you. Amen.
It really is that simple and no matter your past or the things you have done. There is nothing the Lord cannot forgive you for. From something small to big things there is nothing God cannot forgive.
Will you set aside your doubt and fears and surrender them to the one who stands at the door knocking with waiting arms for you? Will you trust Him and cast your cares and worries to Him? Will you trust Him and His Word to never leave you nor forsake you?
First I will begin by simply saying watch the video I share below as I don’t wish to spoil it after the video with my thoughts and you bypassed the video. So, watch it first and then proceed to continue reading.
Amy Grant mentions this prayer and I wrote it down to be sure I quote it correctly. “God lead me today to those I need and those that need me and let something I do have eternal significance.”
What a beautiful prayer. It got me to stop and think… I already know that those that come into our lives come for a reason be it short or long seasons. What never occurred to me was the fact that I might have been needed in their lives. I always saw that people come in my life that I might need for however long a season and for a reason. It never occurs to me that others might need me. I give all that I can but I never seen it as meeting a need in their lives. Even though I have done just that be it money, food, clothes, a ride to places. I just saw I had the means to help and was able to. I have been told a little what difference I have made but it just didn’t click until Amy Grant shared her prayer she prays on the video Dinner Conversations.
I love to help others and I never seen it as I was needed it is just in me to help and be compassionate towards others. I have seen on the other side is that when I need help I actually don’t know how to ask for it and struggle to accept it. I mean I will take the help but I feel the need to repay it back if that makes sense. Mostly nit wanting to be a burden to others. Yet when I help others they probably feel the same way. It is why we are here to help each other and hare the wonderful goodness of a risen Savior.
I always felt like I was a burden to others. So, I never saw that I was needed. I have a great deal of issues going on work wise that just makes you wonder what people are thinking. It has also started to affect my health and I have possible surgery coming soon. It has given me much to think about in the few days that I learned and finally got answers as of Tuesday what is going on and see things in a different light.
I just saw months of endless hatred and idol gossip. I felt how much my body was wearing very quickly by lack of help and not being able to ask for help or receiving help when I need it so I stopped asking. I am now very sick and nothing cancerous but weak and severity of pain.
I missed that I was spiritually beginning attacked by distractions of this or that going on. I missed the devil using others to come at me and they were his vessels. I have seen now what I missed and that prayer open my eyes to the one thing I never got was someone needs me. I see where I can make a difference despite all these past months and hopefully working to get me fixed that I can help.
I have refocused and seeing clearly what I couldn’t see in the midst of the storm. Oh, the storm is still going but I can see clearly now past the distractions of others causing chaos and all because of satan. Sometimes we just miss it and it happens very softly and quietly that before we know it, it is loud and screaming at us.
I have seen the lies and two-faced people even from those claiming to be a fellow Christian. It has made me see their untrust worthiness and not to mistake their kindness as being true.
I am now going to take that prayer and use it myself as a reminder that I am needed by others. Don’t mean to get personal but this is my journey and this is what needed to happen for me to get to this point. I share in hopes Amy Grant’s prayer may reveal something to you as it did to me out were missing or not seeing or lack there of.
This week let us not gossip or speak of lies and falsehood with our tongues but of truth, life, and love unto one another.

Proverbs 16:24 KJV Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
This week be the week of positive words and uplifting praises. I issue you a challenge: For the next 7 days to speak nothing that is negative only that which is positive and see what a difference your week is when you do. You will wish you had done so all along. Start the day on the right note and end it on the same note. I want you to do this not just with the things you say but the thoughts you have that are negative override them with positive thoughts. Change the negative into a positive. At first it will be a challenge pending how negative your thoughts can be even the smallest negative is hard to turn. In the end, it will become so easy that when something negative pops in you can push it aside with barely a thought.
Be kind in thought, speech and deed this week. God bless you and your loved ones.
Feeling the pinch from prices going up? You are not alone and I would like to help you and along with a friend of mine.
First I am starting my friend’s video. His video contains biblical views on finances and money. I am just sharing the first video he has done. You are welcome to watch others on YouTube if you enjoy and would like to watch more videos he has done.
What does it take to blow $10,000 a year? Answer: Just $27.40 a day on miscellaneous spending a day.
Here is a few tips to help you and your family save money:
Things To Stop Spending Money On
1) No new clothes (most of us have over abundance of clothes so this is easy to let go; although a bit difficult with growing kids in your household and with growing kids a second hand shop is best).
2) No food from restaurants (this includes fastfood).
3) No to coffee and snacks (coffee can be from home but not fast-food or Starbucks and snacks is junk food you really can live without).
4) No home decor (reuse, recycle, and refurbish what you already have; also cuts down on the clutter that you can’t take with you when you die).
5) No new books, music, magazines etc. (If you get a library card you can get all these items free by simply having a library card).
6) Pick what to get rid of: keep the cable and lose the Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc or vice-versa and do you truly need all those different apps to watch something pick one to keep and lose the others.)
7) Lose Amazon Prime and shop locally (small businesses (mom and pops are going out because of Amazon Prime) and not to mention nearly everything there is foreign made. You save shopping locally then online.
Spend Money On Necessities.
1) Pay bills (rent/mortgage, utilities, car insurance, cell phone (no buying the latest model, keep your phone as long as it is working), savings and emergency fund)
2) Groceries (plan your week or month ahead)
3) Medicial (this includes ER, Urgent Care, Dental, Primary, Medicine etc.)
4) Gas ( if possible to do so walk to the grocery store).
Saving ideas.
1) Save change to cash to the bank
2) Pull $50 from every hundred you make and set aside for savings. (You can decide the number as long as you are saving a number from your pay check into savings each month).
3) Fill your tank up (you may think you are saving doing a little at a time but your not costing more)
Book I recommend getting to help with finances is: (this book was recommended to me by the same friend who’s video I shared at the top).
Dave Ramsey’s Complete Guide To Money
Dave Ramsey’s book has great ideas for helping you get started and save money as well as getting out of debt. You can find in book stores, online (Amazon), or Kindle.
May this post reach and help those in need and wondering where to start.
