We Pray

28 Day Devotional Day 3:

Praying The Word

In another prayer of intercession when Moses interceded for the Israelites for their sin, Moses reminds God about His promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that God would make their descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. God had promised and now by destroying the Israelites that promise would not be kept – how could God do that? And God hears this prayer – a prayer based on God’s own promises. Let us use God’s Word and promises in His Word as we pray interceding for others.

Prayer: Lord God, thank you for the Bible, your Word and the many promises you have made to us in your Word. Lord, we have the example of Moses interceding for the Israelites and reminding you of your promises to the Israelites – your Word to them – and this moved your hand. Let us also be men and women who pray to you in faith believing and reminding you of the promises you have made as we pray and intercede for others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Exodus 32:12-13 KJV
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
