1 Corinthians 13:13 King James Version

1 Corinthians 13:13 King James Version
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

The Commentary below is from Barnes’ Noble on the Bible from the biblehub.com/commentaries

But the greatest of these is charity – Not because it is to “endure” the longest, but because it is the more important virtue; it exerts a wider influence; it is more necessary to the happiness of society; it overcomes more evils. It is the great principle which is to bind the universe in harmony, which unites God to his creatures, and his creatures to himself, and which binds and confederates all holy beings with each other. It is therefore more important, because it pertains to society to the great kingdom of which God is the head, and because it enters into the very conception of a holy and happy organization. Faith and hope rather pertain to individuals; love pertains to society, and is that without which the kingdom of God cannot stand. Individuals may be saved by faith and hope; but the whole immense kingdom of God depends on love. It is, therefore, of more importance than all other graces and endowments; more important than prophecy and miracles, and the gift of tongues and knowledge, because it will survive them all; more important than faith and hope, because, although it may co-exist with them, and though they all shall live forever, yet love enters into the very nature of the kingdom of God; binds society together; unites the Creator and the creature; and blends the interests of all the redeemed, and of the angels, and of God, into one.

The Bible has been re-written so many times that we miss the real message of the Bible when not going back to the original text of the Bible. King James Version is the only one that makes sense to me. It is important to refer back to original because what is written may not be true to the text or what the author was truly saying. Some Bibles leave off other Bible verses and speaking of the Blood of the Lamb. If it was not meant to be in the Bible to begin with then it would have be left out.

Before reading pray and ask God to reveal what He is saying and what He wants you to take away from it. So what ever your translation is, is still fine just refer back to King James Version and see if the translation matches and staying as close to original as possible.

God bless you and your loved ones.

Bread of LifeBilly Graham’s Daily Devotion Oct 26, 2021

I am the living bread that came down from heaven . . .
–John 6:51

In John 6:48 we read that Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” Jesus had just fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fishes. They were all excited and thrilled over the great miracle that had occurred, [but] Jesus was talking about something more important than social needs. Bread in the Scriptures is a symbol of spiritual life. Man has an inborn hunger for God. He cannot be satisfied with anything less than God. God alone can supply the bread which satisfies the inner longing of your soul and the hunger of your heart. . . . The Bible says that He is the Bread of Life.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord Jesus, thank You for satisfying the yearnings deep down in my heart. Your presence fulfills the needs of my soul, and I rejoice.

What Is A Friend?

You know the song,”why can’t we be friends?” There is more to it then being a friend to somebody.

If you know they are having problems financially, maybe need a lift somewhere, or food to eat, lend a hand. Ask how can I help you or what do you need? Maybe your friend just needs to vent for a moment about what is going on and that’s okay, you can just listen and bring comfort to them.

Definition of a friend- a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection.

A bond of mutual affection is what a friend is. It amazes me so see so many turn a blind eye when a friend or loved oneor someone you know is in need. It begs the question of were you truly friends to begin with.

We are all struggling right now and yet if there is some small way to help someone out and you can then I would. This is why we are here to help each other.

Proverbs 17:17 KJV A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

A friend is someone who remains loyal and helpful during the good times and the bad times. Speaks the truth even when it hurts. Demonstrating the kind of love found in 1 Corinthians 13.

The next time you notice someone in need lend a hand no matter how small the help is or how big. The size does not matter but people do. We are supposed to be reflecting Jesus each day. He helped the broken, weak, the outcast, and those in need.

Should we be any different?
