Good Morning: A Minimal Devotional

Day 2 of 31 Days:

Desperation

Good morning.

I believe there’s a difference between things that are given to us and things that
are available to us in the unseen or the spiritual realm (2 Cor. 4:18). What’s given
are the things that are just handed to us and we often become complacent in them.

It’s easy to settle for a simple, yet surface-level life, a job that just provides, the so-called American Dream, or a relationship with Jesus that has no depth. However, things that are available are true satisfaction, healing, miracles, purpose, breakthrough, power, closeness to God, and joy. Desperation causes us to look beyond what’s given. Desperation takes what’s available. It says, “There has to be more and I need it.”

There are times when we need to get out of our box of what’s “normal.” It might require undignified prayer, praise, fasting, and devotion. If we want to experience a touch from Heaven badly enough, we’ll do whatever it takes. Desperation makes a move.

What is one move you could decide to make today?

Psalm 42:1King James Version

42 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Going through the Bible a chapter a day.

Chapter 3 of Exodus: The Burning Bush is such a miracle sight to behold. A bush on fire but doesn’t burn. Verse 8 we see God has heard the cries of his people and He will deliver them from Egypt and has chosen to do so through Moses. Verse 14 I will share two photos with you that my Bible uses to explain I am That I Am in that verse. See below:

1st picture
2nd picture

Verses 15-22: We the commission of Moses are thr promise and prophecy God had previously given unto Abraham in Genesis 15:12-20.

Chapter 4: Begins with Moses objecting to God’s commission of him verses 1-18.  Here you see God turn the rod in Moses hands into a serpent. Moses hand became covered in leprosy and when he put his hand back to his bosom it was flesh as his other hand was. The water from the river shall turn to blood should they not believe Moses based on the first two signs by God. Moses kept objecting and eventually Lord’s anger was kindled against Moses in verse 14. Verses 19-28 The return of Moses to Egypt and Aaron meets Moses after the Lord told him to meet Moses in the wilderness. Verses 29-31 Deliverance was announced: Moses and Aaron gathered the elders snd spoke about all that God had told them and performed the signs and the people believed.

Chapter 5 we see the Pharaoh’s heart is already harden against the Hebrews and not knowing who God is refusing to let them go. Will share what my Bible says about chapter 5. See below:

Verses 1-21 explained here.

Chapter 6: Following verses 22-23 of the previous chapter and questions asked of Moses unto God in chapter 6:1-13 we see God answer him. Verses 14-27 we see the Families of Israel that God sent Moses and Aaron to deliver out of Egypt (Genesis 45:9-11).

Chapter 7 we see the renewed commission with God and Moses and Aaron to go unto Pharaoh and they show the First and Second Miracles ( reminder of the first and second the rod to a serpent and the water turns to blood).

Before moving to chapter 8 and chapter 9 let me share this The Ten Plagues Of Egypt begins in chapter 7 and ends in chapter 12. See below:

The Ten Plagues of Egypt.

Chapter 7 was the first plague with the Nile to blood (Ex. 7:20). Chapter 8 where we continue with is Frogs in verse 6. The Pharaoh calls forth Moses and Aarons and to ask the Lord to remove the frogs and he will let them go verse 8. The Lord hears Moses and does so but Pharaoh harden gis heart again verse 15. Verse 17 is dust shall become lice. Again the Pharaoh harden his heart. Verse 24 swarm of flies comes unto Pharaoh and his people but not unto the people of God. Verse 25 Pharaoh calls them back tells them to go and saceifice unto your God in the land. Verse 26-32. Moses explains they have to go to the wilderness that which the Lord commanded them to go unto to sacrifice and Pharaoh refuses to let them go. Yet Pharaoh harden his heart once again once Moses went to God to ask the removal of the swarm flies and the Lord did so. 3 of 10 plagues in chapter 8.

Chapter 9: verse 3 death of all the living livestock of Egypt except those belonging to Israel not a one of their’s died. Pharaoh harden his heart once again. Verse 9 boils using ashes of the furnace to create boils upon the Egyptians and Pharaoh’s heart was still harden against them. Verse 24 God sends hail to the land of Egypt. Verse 14-21 God talks to Moses to relay back to Pharaoh what he will bring next. Verse 14: that there is none like me in all the earth.

Verse 27: Pharaoh calls them back saying to interact with God and get the hail to stop and I will let you go. Moses asks God and He stops the hail and fire and then verse 35 we see Pharaoh has harden his heart again and refuses to let them go.

Which concludes the weeks reading of Exodus Chapter 3 through chapter 9.

Will try to come do a weeks follow-up come the following Sunday on the 7th. I work so hopefully will have the time to come back and see where in the Bible we go this week and what is to come next for Moses and Israel people and Pharaoh and the Egyptians.

God bless you and your loved ones.

Good Morning: A Minimal Devotional

Day 1 of 31 Days:

Courage

Good morning.

Fear doesn’t have the right to rule us. When we lean into the Lord, He provides the key to overcoming that fear: courage. This doesn’t mean that we won’t be scared at times. Courage doesn’t eliminate fear. Rather, it provides the strength to step over it. When faced with opposition, courage sees an opportunity to overcome. Courage flips the script. Courage writes history. Courage changes lives.

We must remember that every step of the way, we’re not alone. This very big and very good God is very close. And believe me, He wants you to win.

What is the next step that you’ve been hesitant to take?

Deuteronomy 31:6 King James Version

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
