To me Christmas represents Christ’s birth. The day He came to earth and the world was never the same again. He came to save us from our sins and died on the cross and rose again three days later. It is the day Jesus came down and because of His blood at the cross we were saved. None of what happened at the cross would have been possible without Jesus. He was innocent and our sins put him on the cross. God sent His son down to us so that we might be saved if we believe.
Could you as a parent send your child knowing that one day your child would be beaten, scorned, mocked and crucified on the cross to save the world, having done nothing wrong? Crucified for simply saying in
John 14:6 King James Version
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
See we were such a sinful world and God already flooded the world once and promised not to do so again. Yet there needed to be a payment a path way provided to enter heaven. Which was Jesus’ blood on the cross.
John 19:30 King James Version
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus finally words were, “It Is Finished” and He died that day. Those three words meant that He came to earth and did what He set out to do. He provided a way through Him, that those believe in Him get into heaven and have eternal life.
Do you know why there was a nativity built the first time?
First nativity scene was built over 700 years ago. Italian guy name Francis came up with the idea for the villagers who were illiterate and couldn’t read the story of Mary and Joseph.
Here in the United States it’s called, “a nativity. ” In France it is called, ” ‘Creche.” Spanish speaking people call it, “Nacimiento.”
Francis also came up with the idea for Christmas Carols.
What I am finding hasn’t been about the North Pole or Rudolph or black Friday. What I am finding about is Jesus being born.
It was never about those things but all about Him.

You know the whole happy holidays season greetings thing is pretty bogus, don’t you? How so? Well, it just stinks that everybody is just trying to take out the main reason the holiday is celebrated in the first place.
But the same time everyone wants to get presents and go to parties and get a day off from work and a month off school and all the store owners want to sell a lot of stuff.
I mean it’s kind of hypocritical when you think about it. It’s like the whole world threw you a birthday party and your the main one and made sure you didn’t get invited.
It makes us seem very selfish that we have taken over a day meant to celebrate Jesus and turned it into this big commercial thing and over spend hundreds of dollars on and it is not even about us. We completely missed the picture and what Christmas is really about.
If you really believe it yourself, you should be able to convince other people. That’s what I do if I believe in something. I can only share what I know and what I believe is true. I cannot convince you of that truth. You make the decision if you believe what I say is true. Look up the facts and discover for yourself. Don’t just take my word for it but find the answers put yourself.
Some change it from Christmas to Winter Gala or Winter breaks. No matter what you call it is is still Christmas and there are gifts being given. But giving that is the one thing that defines Christmas. You mean Winter Gala? No I mean Christmas and while we’re on the subject let’s all be honest we are not celebrating winter or gala or some generic season with no name.
It’s Christmas! You know it and I know it. Everybody in the mall knows it. Everybody at the party or gala or whatever is going to know it.
So if we are celebrating winter let’s all show up with our parkas and snow tires. But if we celebrating and spending all this money to celebrate Christmas then let’s have the intelligence to stand up and act like we know what we’re doing and call it a Christmas Party.
It drives me crazy calling it winter break and you live in a warm climate. It is simply not happy holidays as it actually has a name, ” Christmas.” Let’s call it for what it is, Christmas.

What makes a star different this time of year then when it’s painted on the side of a football helmet in Dallas? Can anybody give me one valid reason why this holiday has to be anchored to the concept of someone named Jesus Christ? Because it is His birthday.
A Nativity Scene is nothing more than a symbol and a symbol, or an image, or a tradition really serves no purpose ifnit doesn’t stir someone to remember the thing that it represents.
You see God never wanted to force His son on anyone either. Look at it this way: He’s God, with His power He could’ve everyone in the world Bow down to worship His son, but He didn’t.
He could have filled the world with thunder and lightning and blazing chariots to announce the new king’s arrival, but He didn’t.
He could have assembled the richest, most powerful people on earth to be a witnesses for the new king’s coronation but He didn’t.
Like I said God never wanted to force His son on anyone. It’s just not the way He does things.
And that’s why the first Christmas was the way it was. He choose a poor girl from the village to give birth to the new king. In her culture, she had no rights, no voice. And He chose a stable instead of a palace for the new king’s birth.
When God came to earth, He came to the least, and the last, and the lowest, and the lost. And these people witness the birth of a king who never owned a home, never held political office, never made a grab for power. But this simple man from a poor mother and small town is still considered a person of interest right here today, over two thousand years later.
Now why is that? Not because He forced people to choose Him. It’s because for centuries, men and women have been seeking God and they found Him in this man. And what’s remarkable is that while they were seeking God, they found that He’d been looking for them their while lives.
So, that’s what happened on that First Christmas two thousand years ago- God came to earth looking for you, and He came in the form of a man who showed the whole world what God’s love was like. So on that First Christmas, God’s perfect gift was love. Now, if you take the love out of Christmas, where will you put it? What will you do with it? What will you do with Him, if you remove Him from this season?
The thing that fills people’s hearts usually starts to show up everywhere around them and that is why this time of year, you see evergreens, and lights, and stars, and nativity scenes. Because they remind people of the love that came looking for them so long ago.
Most of the above is from a movie called, “The Perfect Gift.” There are two movies I recommend if wanting to know more and the first was already mentioned and the second is “Kirk Cameron Saving Christmas.”
Let us remember the really reason we celebrate Christmas which is Jesus’ birth and who came to save us that which is lost.
