Going through the Bible a chapter a day

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers%205&version=KJV

Sorry, it’s late but I ended up working 19 days straight and double shifts so the time got extended instead of one to two weeks.

We left off with Leviticus 21: my Bible titles it The Walk of the Priests and verses 16 through 24 is The Physical Disqualifications of a Priest. There was certain standards to be meet as a Priest and it also held I high standard for their loved ones as well.

Leviticus 22: The Separatation of the Priests here they are to be kept clean and away from unclean. This wasn’t just teach that God is not as interested in external ceremony acts of people as He is in the attitudes of their hearts and resulting in righteousness. Verses 17-33 is additional regulations for sacrificial offerings. The priests followed the laws related to holiness in order to teach the Israelites that God is holy.

Leviticus 23:The Sabbath and the Feasts: Below is some notes from my Bible that you might find helpful in explaining some of what is going on and why.

The meaning of the Sabbath.
Different sections of chapter 23 are broken down and explained. You should be able to click and expand the image to read it better.
This is an expansion of the last part cut off on the one above the second part of 23:33-44.

Leviticus 24: The Oil for the light in the Holy Place: The is a place in the tabernacle that darkness as no light hits that area so candles must be lit and always burning these candlesticks are golden. (side note: you can count your blessings we live in the New Testament as when you read verses 10-23 (The Penalty of Blasphemy) every single person who does so against God would be stone to death by those who hear and bare witness there of you doing so). I am not saying it is okay to do so I am pointing out a blessing you aren’t being taken out of the village and stone to death.

Leviticus 25: The Sabbath Year: Giving the land rest in other words trusting God to provide as He promises. This required great faith and trusting God. (Could you if we had to do this now in our time for a year stop and without harvesting the fields, let God provide?).

Leviticus 26: Conditions of Blessings; Warnings of Chastisement: Blessings are bestowed to those who keep God’s covenant and worship Him (brings peace, prosperity, and the presences of God). Those in disobedience will bring poverty peril and fear. Disobedience will bring separation from God.

Leviticus 27: Dedicated to Persons and Things following the Jubilee how one gets there property back and paying a penalty as well.

Some notes in my Bible on Numbers as we begin to go read it.

Numbers 1: Moses Commanded to Number the People: This was to determine who would be soldier’s leaving out Levi’s family as they are the Priests and not to be included in the count.

Numbers 2: Arrangement of the Camp: using the Tabernacle as the hub and the rest of the tribes split to north south east and west. Those east and south marched on ahead and those west and north marched behind. This was so they could live a nomadic way without chaos have a type of order if you will.

Numbers 3 and 4: chapter 3 and 4 offer a double census of descendants of Levi. Chapter 3 lists the duties of each family of Levi’s descendants. Chapter 4 delves into their ministry.

Numbers 5: Below is a summary of chapter 5. Verses 1-4 is the physical impurities; Verses 5-10 is the moral impurities; and Verses 11-31 is the Martial impurities.

God bless you and your loved ones.
